Overview

Milan Linate "Enrico Forlanini" Airport (IATA: LIN, ICAO: LIML) is Milan's city airport: it sits 8 km from the Duomo, beside the Idroscalo lake, practically inside the city. In 2025 it handled 11.1 million passengers, up 5% on 2024. It is the airport of short-haul and business travel: ITA Airways runs its domestic network from here, led by Rome Fiumicino, and Europe's major airlines link it to their hubs, from London to Paris, Amsterdam and Frankfurt. The M4 metro line, completed in 2024, starts at the airport and reaches San Babila in about twelve minutes, continuing to San Cristoforo: travelling light to a hotel on the line, it is hard to beat. A private transfer covers everything else — your hotel door without changes, heavy luggage, groups, meetings at Fiera Milano Rho on the far side of the city, Lake Como in under an hour, and the run to Malpensa or Bergamo for a connecting flight.

Where to find your driver

After baggage reclaim you come out into the arrivals hall, where your Milan Airport Transfer driver waits with a board showing your surname. We track the actual landing time and waiting is included up to 60 minutes after touchdown. At a short-haul airport like Linate luggage comes through quickly: just give us your flight number and we take care of the rest.

Frequently asked questions

How far is Linate from central Milan?+

8 km from the Duomo, about 20 minutes by car in normal traffic. It is the closest airport to the centre — the reason people with a same-day meeting in town choose it.

M4 metro or a private transfer?+

The M4 leaves from outside the terminal and reaches San Babila in about twelve minutes: with hand luggage and a hotel near the line it is ideal. With suitcases, children, a group or an address that needs changes, a private transfer takes you to the door without stairs or ticket gates.

How long from Linate to Fiera Milano Rho?+

About half an hour for 21 km, crossing the city on the ring road. During the big trade-fair weeks — Salone del Mobile, EICMA — traffic leaving the exhibition centre stretches journey times, so book your return with a margin.

Can I get to Lake Como from Linate?+

Yes: Como is 54 km, about an hour, and Bellagio 75 km, an hour and a quarter. From Linate, Bellagio is actually closer than from Malpensa, as the road climbs along the Lecco arm of the lake.

Do you run transfers between Linate and Malpensa?+

Yes, 59 km in about an hour. For a connection between the two airports allow a margin: the A8 motorway and the northern ring road are busy at rush hour.

Is Linate linked to the port of Genoa?+

Yes, 154 km in about two hours: the route for passengers who fly in and board on the same day. Tell us your ship and sailing time and we set the pick-up with a margin for embarkation.

Will the driver wait if my flight is late?+

Yes, up to 60 minutes after actual landing, at no extra charge. We follow the flight in real time.

How do I pay?+

Online by card when you book (Visa, Mastercard, American Express via Stripe), with instant confirmation. Cash on board is not accepted.
