About the destination
Como stands at the southern tip of the lake's western branch, a few kilometres from the Swiss border. Inside its Roman-grid walls are the marble Duomo, the striped Broletto beside it and the Romanesque basilica of Sant'Abbondio just outside the centre. Along the shore, the Tempio Voltiano honours Alessandro Volta, the inventor of the battery and the city's most famous son, and the lakeside promenade leads to the neoclassical Villa Olmo and its gardens. The funicular that has climbed to Brunate since 1894 gives the classic view over the first basin of the lake, and the boat piers on Piazza Cavour are where trips to Cernobbio, Tremezzo and Bellagio begin. Como is also a working city with a long silk tradition, lively well beyond the tourist season.

From Linate the transfer follows Milan's ring roads to the north-west and the motorway towards Como, about 54 km and 58 minutes in normal traffic. The last kilometres run through the city to the lake. Motorway tolls are included in the fixed price.
