Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP) → Aeroporto di Milano Linate (LIN)
Malpensa to Linate Airport – Private Transfer
Airport to airport across Milan in about an hour, straight from arrivals to departures.
From €120
Secure card payment — instant confirmation
Milan has two airports on opposite sides of the city, and itineraries that land at Malpensa and leave from Linate are more common than they should be — a long-haul arrival followed by a domestic or short European flight, or a cancelled connection rebooked from the other airport. By public transport the trip means a train into Milan and a change onto the metro for Linate. A private transfer covers the 59 km in about 63 minutes: your driver meets you in arrivals with a name board, loads the luggage and follows the SS336, the A8 and Milan's ring roads to the Linate departures area. The flight is monitored, so a late landing does not cost you the car. One fixed price for the vehicle, whatever the number of passengers it carries.
- Direct airport-to-airport drive: no train change, no metro with suitcases
- Meet & greet in arrivals at Malpensa Terminal 1 or 2
- Flight tracked in real time; the driver waits up to 60 minutes after landing
- Drop-off at Linate departures, ready for check-in
- Fixed price per vehicle, luggage and tolls included
- Works in reverse too, for a Linate arrival and a Malpensa departure

Aeroporto di Milano Linate (LIN)
About the destination
Linate is Milan's city airport, about 8 km east of the Duomo, beside the Idroscalo lake. It handles mainly domestic and European flights, including the busy shuttle service to Rome, and since the M4 metro line opened it has been linked directly to central Milan. Its single terminal is compact: from the drop-off to the security lanes is a matter of minutes, which is precisely why it suits a tight onward connection better than Malpensa does. If your second flight is the next morning, the hotels around Linate and in the eastern districts of Milan are a quiet alternative to sleeping in the centre.
About the route
Road, traffic and timing
The two airports are about 59 km apart by road. From Malpensa the transfer takes the SS336 to the A8 Milano–Laghi motorway, then the Milan ring roads round the city to Linate on the eastern edge. Driving time is around 63 minutes outside rush hours. Motorway tolls and airport parking are included in the fixed price.
Travel tips
Know before you go
- Give us both flight numbers when booking: we time the pick-up on the first and the drop-off on the second
- Check which terminal you land at in Malpensa — easyJet uses Terminal 2 only
- Avoid weekday rush hours on the ring roads if you have any choice in your connection times
What to visit
Nearby attractions
- Idroscalo — the lake-park right next to Linate
- Central Milan — about 8 km away, also reachable on the M4 metro line
- Abbazia di Chiaravalle — Cistercian abbey on Milan's southern edge
- Piazza del Duomo and the Galleria, if your connection allows a stopover
- Parco Forlanini — the large park beside the airport
When to visit
Seasonal notes & events
The connection is year-round, but timing matters more than season. Fashion Weeks and the Salone del Mobile in April put extra traffic on the ring roads; in autumn and winter early-morning fog can affect both the roads and flight schedules, so leave a wider margin between flights from November to February.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How much does a private transfer from Malpensa to Linate cost?+
The price is fixed and per vehicle, not per passenger: from €120 with a Standard Sedan (up to 3 passengers), €140 with a Mercedes E-Class, €170 with a Mercedes V-Class (up to 7). Round trip from €230, with 10% off the return leg. Luggage, tolls, flight monitoring and airport meet & greet are included; any night or holiday surcharge is shown in the quote before you book.
How long does it take to get from Malpensa to Linate?+
About 63 minutes for 59 km in normal traffic, via the SS336, the A8 and the Milan ring roads. At weekday rush hours the ring roads can add half an hour; that is the variable to plan around.
How long should I leave between landing at Malpensa and departing from Linate?+
We advise against connections built on the minimum. Count the time to reach arrivals and collect your bags, an hour or more on the road depending on the time of day, and your airline's check-in deadline at Linate. If the two flights are on separate tickets, a generous margin is your only protection.
Is there a direct train between Malpensa and Linate?+
No. By rail you take the Malpensa Express into Milan and then the metro to Linate, with your luggage through two stations. The private transfer is a single door-to-door drive.
What happens if my Malpensa arrival is late?+
We follow your flight and the driver adjusts to the actual landing time, waiting up to 60 minutes after touchdown at no extra charge. If you realise you will miss the Linate flight, contact your airline first: the transfer adapts to the new plan.
Can you do the transfer the other way, from Linate to Malpensa?+
Yes, with the same meet & greet in Linate arrivals and drop-off at the Malpensa terminal you need — Terminal 2 if you are flying easyJet, Terminal 1 for most other airlines.
