Secure card payment — instant confirmation
From Malpensa, the most direct road to St. Moritz runs along Lake Como to Chiavenna, crosses into Switzerland at Castasegna and climbs the Val Bregaglia to the Maloja Pass, which stays open all year. By train the same trip means changes in Milan and at Tirano or in Switzerland; the private car does it in one go, in about 192 minutes, with skis and luggage on board. This is an international transfer: your driver handles the border crossing, and tolls are included in the fixed price — on this route there is no Swiss motorway, so no vignette is needed. You are met at arrivals with a name board, your flight is tracked, and in winter the vehicle is equipped for snow. One fixed price per vehicle, luggage included.

St. Moritz (Svizzera)
About the destination
St. Moritz sits at about 1,800 metres in the Upper Engadine, above a lake that freezes solid in winter. It hosted the Winter Olympics twice, in 1928 and 1948, and still stages events on the ice: the White Turf horse races on the frozen lake in February and the famous Cresta Run toboggan course. The ski areas of Corviglia and, a short drive away, Corvatsch and Diavolezza, are known for their sunshine and dry snow. The Albula and Bernina railway lines, together a UNESCO World Heritage Site, reach St. Moritz and run the Bernina Express. In the village, the Segantini Museum is dedicated to the painter who captured the Engadine light like no one else.
About the route
Road, traffic and timing
From Malpensa the transfer heads east towards Lake Como and runs up its eastern shore to Colico and Chiavenna. It crosses into Switzerland at Castasegna and climbs the Val Bregaglia to the Maloja Pass, before following the chain of Engadine lakes to St. Moritz: 190 km, about 192 minutes in good conditions. Tolls, fuel and airport parking are included in the fixed price.

When to visit
Seasonal notes & events
St. Moritz has two seasons: winter, from December to early spring, for skiing and events on the frozen lake, and summer for hiking, cycling and the lakes of the Upper Engadine. In winter the Maloja Pass stays open but conditions can change quickly; we check the road before departure and adjust timings. In spring and late autumn many hotels close between seasons.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How much does a private transfer from Malpensa to St. Moritz cost?+
The price is fixed and per vehicle, not per passenger: from €350 with a Standard Sedan (up to 3 passengers), €410 with a Mercedes E-Class, €475 with a Mercedes V-Class (up to 7). Round trip from €665, with 10% off the return leg. Luggage, tolls, flight monitoring and airport meet & greet are included; any night or holiday surcharge is shown in the quote before you book.
How long is the drive from Malpensa to St. Moritz?+
About 192 minutes for 190 km in good conditions. In winter, snowfall on the Maloja Pass and weekend traffic along Lake Como can lengthen the journey: we plan the pick-up with a margin.
Which documents do I need?+
Switzerland is in the Schengen area but not in the EU customs union. EU citizens need a valid passport or national identity card; other nationalities need the passport (and visa, if required) they used to enter Italy. Keep documents with you, as customs officers may stop vehicles at Castasegna.
Do I need a Swiss motorway vignette?+
No. The route via Chiavenna and the Maloja Pass uses no Swiss motorway, so the vignette is not required. All tolls are included in the fixed price.
Is the Maloja Pass open in winter?+
Yes, the Maloja is open all year. Heavy snowfall can temporarily require snow chains or slow traffic; the vehicles on this route are equipped for winter, and the driver adapts timings to conditions.
Can I bring ski equipment and goods into Switzerland?+
Personal ski equipment and luggage are no problem. Goods above the Swiss duty-free allowances must be declared at customs: tell us when you book if you are carrying any, so the driver can plan the stop.
