Secure card payment — instant confirmation
Malpensa and Bergamo Orio al Serio are both 'Milan' on the airline websites, but they are 97 km apart and there is no direct rail link between them: by public transport you go through Milan and change more than once. The case is common — a long-haul or easyJet arrival at Malpensa followed by a low-cost departure from Bergamo, one of Ryanair's largest bases. The private transfer does it in one go: about 77 minutes by motorway, with your driver waiting in arrivals with a name board and dropping you at Bergamo departures. Your flight is monitored, the price is fixed per vehicle and agreed in advance, and luggage — usually the reason low-cost travellers fear connections — is simply loaded in the boot.
- One drive between the two airports — no train into Milan, no changes
- Around 77 minutes on the motorway, outside rush hours
- Meet & greet at Malpensa Terminal 1 or Terminal 2 (easyJet)
- Drop-off at Bergamo departures, beside the A4 motorway
- Fixed price per vehicle, tolls and luggage included
- Driver waits up to 60 minutes after your actual landing

Aeroporto di Bergamo Orio al Serio (BGY)
About the destination
Orio al Serio sits on the southern edge of Bergamo, right next to the A4 Milano–Venezia motorway, and is the airport of choice for low-cost flights to and from northern Italy. If you have a few hours before your departure, Bergamo itself deserves them: the Città Alta, the medieval upper town, stands on its hill inside the Venetian walls — a UNESCO World Heritage site — a short drive from the terminal. A funicular climbs from the lower town to the walls, and Piazza Vecchia, the Cappella Colleoni and the basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore are within a few minutes' walk of each other at the top.
About the route
Road, traffic and timing
From Malpensa the transfer takes the SS336 to the A8, then crosses the northern Milan area on the motorway network — the ring roads or the Pedemontana, depending on traffic — and joins the A4 Milano–Venezia towards Bergamo. The airport is directly beside the motorway at Orio al Serio. Distance 97 km, about 77 minutes. Tolls are included in the fixed price.
Travel tips
Know before you go
- Check your low-cost airline's bag-drop closing time: it is usually stricter than at the big carriers
- Send us both flight numbers, so the pick-up and the drop-off are timed on real schedules
- If you are flying easyJet into Malpensa, you land at Terminal 2: tell us, so the driver waits there
What to visit
Nearby attractions

When to visit
Seasonal notes & events
Low-cost schedules peak in summer and around holidays, when Bergamo's terminal is at its busiest and security queues lengthen: build that into your connection. In autumn and winter early-morning fog in the Po plain can slow the motorways and occasionally affect flights, so the wider your margin between landing and departure, the better.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How much does a private transfer from Malpensa to Bergamo airport cost?+
The price is fixed and per vehicle, not per passenger: from €160 with a Standard Sedan (up to 3 passengers), €190 with a Mercedes E-Class, €220 with a Mercedes V-Class (up to 7). Round trip from €305, with 10% off the return leg. Luggage, tolls, flight monitoring and airport meet & greet are included; any night or holiday surcharge is shown in the quote before you book.
How long is the drive from Malpensa to Orio al Serio?+
About 77 minutes for 97 km in normal traffic. The route crosses the north of the Milan area on motorways and ends on the A4: at weekday rush hours, allow extra time.
Is there a train between Malpensa and Bergamo airport?+
Not a direct one. By public transport you travel into Milan and change at least once more before reaching Orio al Serio, carrying your luggage between trains. The private transfer is a single drive from arrivals to departures.
How long should I leave between the two flights?+
More than the minimum. Add together the time to collect your bags at Malpensa, at least 77 minutes of driving and your airline's check-in and bag-drop deadline at Bergamo. Low-cost airlines close bag drop strictly, and connections on separate tickets are not protected.
Can I stop in Bergamo's Città Alta on the way?+
If your timing allows, yes: the upper town is a short drive from the airport. Ask for the stop when booking so it is planned into the transfer.
Will the driver wait if my Malpensa flight lands late?+
Yes. We monitor the flight and the driver adapts to the real landing time, waiting up to 60 minutes after touchdown at no extra cost.
